The T1-115 operates on a rocker switching mechanism in which the dolly pivots about a central axis to open or close the internal contact bridge. The contact assembly pairs a brass fixed contact with a phosphor bronze moving contact element, the latter providing the spring force necessary to maintain reliable contact pressure in the closed position and to achieve a clean, rapid break on switching. This contact geometry minimises arcing duration and reduces contact erosion over repeated switching cycles.

The pillar-type terminal design clamps conductors securely without requiring specialist tooling, accommodating solid or stranded conductors up to 2.5 mm². The flame-retardant PC body material limits flame propagation in fault conditions, and the overall construction is aligned with the requirements of MS 1577 for general-purpose switches intended for household and similar fixed electrical installations.
