The TBC T1-120 operates as a mechanically actuated double pole rocker switch, utilising a spring-loaded contact mechanism to achieve a positive snap-action switching operation. This snap-action design minimises contact bounce and arc duration during switching events, contributing to reduced contact erosion and extended electrical endurance. The brass and phosphor bronze contact assembly is dimensioned to carry a continuous rated current of 20A at 250V AC, with the contact geometry optimised to distribute thermal load evenly across the contact surface.

The neon indicator circuit is wired in parallel with the load contacts, illuminating whenever the switch is in the ON position to confirm circuit energisation. The polycarbonate enclosure provides a comparative tracking index (CTI) appropriate for the rated voltage class, and the flame-retardant grade of the material ensures the switch self-extinguishes in the event of an internal fault, limiting fire propagation risk in wall-mounted installations.
